Softview Windows, Doors and Conservatories is committing to Door-Stop's composite door, confident in the knowledge that the time is right to push this high end product. "It's becoming more difficult to sell the big ticket items such as conservatories in today's economic climate," explains Adrian Wymer, Managing Director of Softview, "but people still enjoy spending money and are prepared to buy an attractive improvement to the entrance of their home. With Door-Stop's more attractive, stronger and safer composite alternative to panel doors consumers can upgrade their homes for a manageable amount of money. The day of the panel door is coming to an end - it's the equivalent of offering homeowners a choice between first class and economy seats on a plane for the same price - composite doors are the growth market.
"I have worked in the industry for 25 years so know a bit about the different products available to retail companies such as Softview. We put a hold on proactively pushing composite doors some time ago because we knew that one day a manufacturer would come along with a better product than the cumbersome, inefficient doors previously available. Door-Stop International proved to be that company, offering a high end product which provides value for money."
Adrian continues: "Just as our customers have confidence in us, we have to have confidence in our suppliers and we certainly do with Door-Stop's excellent package of product, service and marketing. We are so confident composite doors are the future, we are removing two conservatories from our £1million showroom and replacing them with the top 15 combinations of Door-Stop doors. We want to show our commitment to the product and will displaying more doors than windows when the new display is complete at the end of January. The showroom will be another means of highlighting the benefits of the Door-Stop door - for example the option to upgrade to Secured By Design and Yale hardware available on all doors. We can even offer our customers Yale's highly innovative door bell safety device, which photographs visitors as they ring the door bell, as standard. This device means homeowners can have a photo of anyone ringing the door bell before they answer the door, or of anyone visiting while they are out. Access to such technology via Door-Stop allows us to supply our customers with a unique offering.
"Softview isn't a price driven company - we can compete in this way and sometimes we do, but we are a well known brand in the local area and have a reputation for our honesty, credibility, after sales service and accreditations, so price becomes less important. Confidence is key in a struggling market, and homeowners have confidence in Softview's family-run approach."
